REGINA Spektor has a hazy memory of her last tour of Australia.

Days before she was due to fly Down Under in 2007 the Russian-born, New York-based singer hailed one of the Big Apple's notoriously temperamental cabs.

After throwing her bag into the cab, the driver started to leave - with Spektor only halfway in. Leaping into the back seat she heard a "bad noise" and felt instant pain in her hip.
